さて、先日、我が家のめいが無事に日本語補習校の年少組に入園したというお話をしました。
So, I talked the other day that May-chan started her new school year at Japanese school.
年少前クラスからのお友達と一緒に進級したので、新しいクラスでもいつものお友達と一緒に授業を受けています。
All the classmates are the same as the last class members, so she's taking a class with the familiar friends.
年少組になると、クラスや学校全体運営に保護者が関わる事が増え、学期ごとに保護者の一人がクラスリーダーになり、色々とクラスをまとめたりイベントを企画したりしないといけません。
In the new class, the parents need to be involved in more of the school and class management and our class also has a class leader in each semester. The class leader jobs are like arranging everybody's schedule, plan a class event and etc...
で、先日、1学期のクラスリーダーさんが、クラスの交流を深める為に授業の後の時間にプレイデートを企画してくださったので、めいと一緒に参加してきました。
And the other day, the class leader of 1st semester planned a class play date after school so that we can get to know with each other more, and May-chan and I, of course, joined it.
プレイデートの会場は、まだまだ外が寒いミネソタなので、インドアプレイグラウンド。
We gathered at this indoor playground since the weather was still kind of chilly here in MN.
こちらの施設は多分この街が運営しているのか、入場料は子供$5（この街の住人なら$4）で大人は無料というお財布に優しい価格設定でした。
（クラスリーダーさんが、わざわざそういう所を探してくださったのです。）
I assume that this indoor playground was managed by its city or town, so the admission fee was $5 only for kids (if you're a resident of the city, it's only $4) and adult attendants with kids are free. (The class leader was kindly trying to find such a reasonable place.)
めいさん、クラスでもマミーから離れられないのですが、ここでも「マミーも一緒に行く！」
とHit-chanは強制参加させられました。
（何度か「行っておいで～！」と見送ったのですが、ちょっと進んだらすぐ戻ってきてしまいました。）
As I've mentioned several times here, May-chan usually couldn't be separated from Mommy at the playground as well as in the class. So, "Mommy come too!!" she pulled my hand and forced me to join her anyways.
("You can go on your own!" I attempted to make her go by herself a couple of times, but she returned to me shortly after she took some steps.)
隣にいるのはクラスメートのT君。「一緒に冒険しようよ！」
と何度も誘ってくれ、ほぼほぼずーっと一緒に遊んでいました。(笑)
The boy next to her was T-kun. "Let's go on an adventure with me!!" he kindly invited me several times and we ended up playing together most of the time. Haha.
プレイグラウンドでは子供たちがいっぱい遊んでいたんですが、遊具に一緒に入って遊んでくれる大人は少なかったので、めいと一緒に遊具に入ってたHit-chanは結構人気者で、何人かの知らない子から「手伝って！」と、一人で登れない場所で抱っこしてあげる事が数回ありました。皆、可愛かった～。
There were bunch of kids playing at the play ground, but not so many adults were actually playing with the kids. (Most of them were just observing around the playground, and I wished I could have done that way. Haha) So, I was kind of popular as an adult actually playing in the playground, and a couple of girls asked me, "Please help!", to hold them up at a spot where they couldn't climb up on their own. They're so cute!!
この日、一番のお気に入りはこの滑り台。
May-chan's favorite of the day was this slides!
御覧の通り、結構大きくて急なんですが、めいさん、喜んで何度も何度も滑りました。（Hit-chanも強制参加で何度も滑りました。）
As you can tell from the picture, the slides were kind of steep and long for her age. Though, she really loved and asked me to go there with her over and over.
終始、「滑り台は滑りたいけど、マミーと一緒じゃないと嫌。」
という感じだっためいさんだったんですが、その中でもたった一度だけ、一人でぐんぐんと遊具を登っていくという場面がありました。
May-chan was like, "I wanna go slide again, but I don't wanna go without Mommy!" for the entire time, but just once, she climbed up the playground pretty well just by herself.
ほら、ビックリするくらい一人で登っていって、最終的にはこんな高い所にまで行ってました。
Look! She's right there! I was so surprised that she ended up going that far from me!
めいさんの場合、こんな風に一人で進んで行っても、ふとマミーがいない事に気づくと「マミーはどこー！！」と泣き出す事もよくあるので、この時もそうなるんじゃないかなぁと様子を見てたんですが、大丈夫でした。
"Where's Mommy!!!???" she usually starts crying when she notices that Mommy's not coming after her, so a part of me was wondering if she would start crying at some point. Though, what's a good surprised was that she was okay at the time. Yay!
ただ、この後も、クラスメートのお姉ちゃん達が「めいちゃん、一緒に行こう！」とかいがいしく面倒をみてくれようとしても、「行かない～！」
と頑なに拒否して、結局のところ、Hit-chanが最後までめいと付き合って滑り台を何度も滑る羽目になりました。(笑)
It was only that time that she went away from me. A couple of her classmates' big sisters were super sweet and "May-chan, let's go with us!!" they kindly tried to take her with them, but May-chan was like, "I'm not going!!!!" and refused to take such a nice offer. So, I ended up going the slide million times with May-chan. LOL
本当は、普段はゆっくり話せない他の保護者の方達と一緒に楽しいお話をしたいなぁと思っていたんですが、最初から最後までめいにかかりっきりになっちゃったので、それは叶わず。（残念！）
Honestly speaking, I wanted to use such a nice opportunity to talk to other moms and dads, but it's too bad that I couldn't do that since I had to attend May-chan the whole time. (Dang!)
でもでも、この先もまだまだこういう機会があるだろうし、めいももう少しマミー離れできるようになったら、他のママパパともゆっくり話ができるんじゃないかなぁと思っています。
Still, we'll still have more opportunities like this in the future, and hopefully May-chan will be more comfortable to play without Mommy and I can talk to other moms and dads more then.
めいにとっては初めてのプレイグラウンド、そして、こんなにたくさんの子供達に囲まれて遊んだので、とても良い機会になりました。
It was actually the first time for May-chan to play at a playground and also play surrounded by so many other children, so it was very good experience for both her and me.
ちなみに、Hit-chan、久しぶりの運動のお陰で体がクタクタになりました。
（このプレイグラウンド、大人がやっても結構良い運動になるんだよ。）
Thanks to the first exercise in a long time, my out-of-shape body got so sore on the next day. Haha.
(Seriously, playing at a playground with kids is a very good exercise for adults too!)
という訳で、初めてのクラスでのプレイデート、めいも大喜びで大成功でした！！
Okay, this is all about May-chan's first class play date, and she really loved and enjoyed it!!
