Hello!
先日、持っていた日本の本を全て読み終わってしまい、「あ～、もっと日本の本が読みたい！！！」と日本の活字に飢えていたので、母に頼んで送ってもらいました。
Some weeks ago, I finished reading all the Japanese books I had and I got craving for printed Japanese words like "I want to read Japanese books more!!!!" So, I asked my mom to ship some more books for me.
不思議な事に、日本にいた頃は全然本を読まない人だったのに、アメリカに来てからは四六時中英語に囲まれているせいか、日本語が恋しくなっちゃうんですねぇ。
It's somehow weird, but I used to not read books at all when I was in Japan, but I miss Japanese books so much maybe because I've been surrounded by English 24/7 since I moved here.
今回、送ってもらうのに船便かEMSで迷ったんですが、母が「送料は出しておくから良いよ～。」と太っ腹発言のお蔭で、随分とお財布に優しく、スピーディーに日本の本を手に入れる事ができました。
I wondered if I wanted to use sea mail or air mail this time, but my mom kindly said "I'll pay the shipping fee for you!", so I could get many books in a very speedy and cheap way. Thanks mom!
で、こちらが日本からの小包。
So, here is the package.
そう、うちの母、亡き祖母からの切手を大量に受け継いでいるので、小包はいつも大量の切手が貼られて届きます。
Yeah, my mom always pay the shipping fee with stamps which she handed over from my grand mom, so there are always many stamps on the box.
確か、1万円以上送料かかったましたが、すごい枚数の切手で払われていました。(笑)
I think the shipping fee was about \10,000 ($100) and it's all paid just with stamps.
ただ、Andyっちにとってはこの切手も珍しく、箱だけでも楽しませてもらえました。
The many Japanese stamps are still so interesting to Andy, so the box itself is very entertaining.
こちらが中身。
Here's the inside.
箱の空いたスペースにお菓子を詰めてくれて、テンション急上昇！
My mom put some candies in empty space of the box and they made me so excited!
チートスはこっちでも売っていますが、やはり日本のものは日本人の舌に合わせて作られているので、もちろんHit-chanは日本のチートスの方が好きでした。
Yeah, Cheetos is American snack, but the Japanese versions are made for Japanese taste, so I liked the Japanese flavors better, of course.
という訳で、日本からの愛をひしひし感じながら、毎晩本を読んでいます。
Now, I'm reading every night as feeling much love from love.

数億円切手ですか？あれば万々歳ですねぇ。
祖母から譲り受けたものではあるんですが、生前の祖母は交流関係がとても広い上に、筆まめだったので、コレクションというよりも、実用的な意味でたくさん切手を持っていたようです。なので、ほとんどが年賀はがきに当選していただいたもののようです。
