今日は久しぶりにセカンドステップシリーズです。
Okay, I want to write about another Second Step articles today.
さて、２度のフーナーテストで、Andyっちの精子がHit-chanの体の中で動かなくなってしまっているという事が判明しました。
So, my post-coital test results said that Andy's semen got inactive inside of my body.
その結果を踏まえてDr.Rとお話しをして、人工授精をする事になりました。
At the meeting with Dr.R after the post-coital tests, he decided to have us do Artificial Insemination (AIH).
人工授精というのは、男性から採取した精液を細いチューブを使って、直接子宮内に注入するというものです。
AIH means that they pour the man's semen directly into the woman's uterus through a fine-bore tube.
プロセスとしては、排卵日近くになると排卵チェッカーという市販の検査薬（妊娠検査薬と同じような物です。）を使って、検査薬が陽性になると病院に電話をかけて、翌日の人工授精の準備をしてもらいます。
The process is that you first take an ovulation checker from some days before your ovulation day-to-be and when it turns to be positive, you make a phone call to the clinic and have them schedule your AIH appointment on the next day.
そして翌日、Andyっちの精子の採取が朝の6時からだったので、2人で4時過ぎに起きて病院に向かいました。
And the next day, Andy had to take his semen in the lab at 6am, so we got up about 4:30am and headed to the lab.
採取した後、8時に行われる人工授精までは時間があったので、近くのレストランで朝食を取って時間を潰しました。
After he finished the process, we still have much time until my AIH appointment at 8am, so we had a breakfast at Perkin's near the hospital.
そして、予約の時間にもう一度病院に戻り、受付を済ませます。
We headed back to the hospital some minutes before the appointment.
受付が終わると看護師さんに簡単な質問をいくつか受けて、人工授精をしてくれる医師を待ちました。
I answered some easy questions from a nurse and waited for the doctor in the room.
今回担当してくださったのは女性の先生で、簡単に人工授精のプロセスの説明をしてくれました。そして、手にある試験管に貼ってある精子提供者の名前を見せてくれ、
The doctor was female and explained to me about the process she's going to do that day. And she showed me the name of the donor on the small test tube in her hand and said
「この名前は知ってるよね？知ってると言ってね～。笑」
"Do you know this name?? Please say you do!!"
と笑いながら聞いてくれ、少し緊張がほぐれました。
It was so funny and made me relaxed.
もちろん、精子のドナーはAndyっちで、Andyっちの名前が書かれていたので「大丈夫です。」と返事。
Of course, the name of the test tube is Andy's, so I answered "Yes, I do."
人工授精のプロセス自体ですが、チューブを通すために子宮の入り口を器具で広げるのですが、その時は少し痛かったです。
Speaking of the process itself, I felt a little pain when she tried to open the entrance of my uterus to enter the fine-bore tube inside.
とはいえ、HSG後に襲った耐えられないくらいの痛みに比べればヘッチャラでした。
Even though, it was not a big deal compared with the big pain that I had after my HSG test.
精子が注入された後は、枕を足の下に置き、寝たままで15分ほど安静にしていました。
After she poured the semen, she told me to stay lying about 15 minutes with a pillow under my feet.
全ての処置が終わったのが9時過ぎくらいでした。
When everything was done, it's about 9am.
処置自体は少しの痛みはあるものの、時間も短くそれほど大変ではなかったんですが、何でも朝が早いのと、いつ排卵日が来るのかは100％予測する事は出来ないので、仕事の調整が少し大変でした。
I had some pain during the process, but it didn't take too long. Still, it's a little bit tough for me to have to wake up pretty early and take care of my work schedule since you can't tell exactly when your ovulation happens.
人工受精後は自然妊娠と同じプロセスで妊娠に至るので、約2週間後に妊娠してるか否かが分かります。
After AIH, the sperm and the egg meets just same as a natural pregnancy, so you can tell if you're pregnant or not about after 2 weeks.
で、初めての人工授精ですが、残念ながら妊娠には至りませんでした。ガッカリ。。。
It was our first try, but unfortunately, it failed. So disappointing. ..
最初にDr.Rとお話しした時に、とりあえず3回はトライしてみましょうとの事だったので、あと2回は同じプロセスで人工授精をする予定です。
Though, Dr.R was talking that he wanted us to try AIH 3times at least, so we're going to try 2 more times in the same way.
という訳で、セカンドステップシリーズでした！
