さて、前回の記事でAndyっちの誕生日の様子を書きました。
So, on the last article, I wrote about the weekend trip to Crosslake for Andy's birthday.
今日はプレゼントを開けた翌日の様子と、ウィスキーと一緒にプレゼントとしてあげた１セント硬貨（ペニー）の事を書きたいと思います。
Today, I want to write about the day after and the 6 pennies that I gave him as one of the BD gifts along with the expensive whiskey.
クロスレイク２日目の朝は、ゆっくり眠って、近くに最近できた１ドルショップを見に行きました。
On the day2 at Crosslake, we slept in late in the morning and went to check this dollar shop which recently opened.
で、５分ほど見て、その後はお腹が空いたので、いつもの。。。
After 5 mins browsing at the dollar shop, we went to grab a lunch at this usual place again.
ピザ屋さん。
Yeah, our usual pizza place in Crosslake.
逆光ですが、無問題！
ここではいつものように、不動産雑誌を眺めるAndyっち。
Just as usual, Andy checks real estate magazine.
いつもと変わらないものを食べました。(笑)
Yeah, we just ate usual things here too.
で、ここからペニーの話です。
Okay, from now, I'll talk about the pennies.
Andyっちにあげたこのペニーです。
I'm talking about these pennies.
このペニー、表にはリンカーンが彫られ、裏には小麦が彫られており、小麦（ウィート）から、ウィートペニーと呼ばれているんです。
These pennies are carved Lincoin on the front and wheat on the back, so people called them "Wheat Pennies".
このウィートペニー、1909年から1958年まで造られていたもので、収集している人も多いようです。
These wheat pennies were made from 1090-1958 and I hear that many people collect them.
Andyっちもその一人なんですねぇ。
Yeah, Andy is one of those.
集めていると言っても、特に細かく「何年のどこで造られたもの！」と狙って集めている訳ではなく、普段生活している範囲で手にしたコインの中にウィートペニーを見つけると、使わないで置いておくという程度です。
Though, he's not that picky or desparate like "I want this year's one made at this location!" or something. He just put them aside in a growler when he find them through daily grocery shopping.
ちなみに、アマゾンとかでも「ウィートペニー」が売りに出されてたりします。
By the way, some people sell "Wheat Pennies" on Amazon too. Haha.

（ちなみにこれは1918年に製造されたもので、今まで見つけた中で一番古いもの。100年も使われてきた歴史を感じますねぇ。）

で、Hit-chan、仕事柄たくさんのコインを毎日目にしているので、このウィートペニーを発見する確率も高いのです。
I'm working at Caribou, so I go through a lot of coins everyday which means I have more chances to find wheat pennies.
でね、Andyっちの為にウィートペニーをせっせと集めまして、今ではこれくらい貯まりました。
So, I've been collecting wheat pennies for Andy and we've saved up this many now.
100枚以上はあるかな？
I guess there are more than 100 pennies here?
まぁ、これをどうしたいのかは知りませんけど、見つけたウィートペニーを見つけるたびに喜んでくれるので、その顔を見たくてHit-chanもお手伝いしているという次第です。
I'm not sure what Andy'd like to do with these pennies, but he always gets excited when I give him new ones. That's why I can't stop checking to see if there's a wheat penny somewhere all the time!
