我が家のクリスマス・後編 (Our Christmas 2023 2/2)

さて、前回の記事の続き、我が家のクリスマス2023の後編をお届けしたいと思います。
Today let me talk about the rest of our family's Christmas 2023. 

 

 

 

落ち着いた雰囲気ながらも楽しい時間を過ごしたイブの翌日、クリスマス当日の朝。
We had a very calm and fun Christmas eve and welcomed Christmas in the next morning. 

 

 

 

朝ご飯を食べて、いざ、残りのプレゼントを開封していきます。
We had a light breakfast and started opening the rest of the presents. 

 

 

 

クリスマス当日の朝には、前日まで無かったサンタさんからのプレゼントが増えておりました。
（我が家では、サンタさんからのプレゼントも毎年あるんですが、他のプレゼントの数が多すぎて存在感が薄くなっちゃうんですよ。笑）
Besides a lot of presents from Christmas eve, we found some presents from Santa newly added to the piles.
(We get some presents from Santa every Christmas, but those are always less memorable due to all other presents. Haha)

 

 

 

Andyっちもサンタさんからジャーキー？をもらっておりました。
Andy got some jerkeys? from Santa too. 

 

 

で、11月で5歳になっためいさん。もうサンタさんの存在も理解しており、事前にサンタさんへのお手紙も書いて欲しいモノを伝えておりました。
May-chan, who turned 5 in November, now understands who Santa Clause is and what he does for us. So, she had written a card telling him what she wanted for Christmas. 

 

 

そして、めいさんがサンタさんからのプレゼントを開けた瞬間がこちら。
Here's the moment when May-chan opened a present from Santa. 

 

 

 

First Happy Tears （人生初の嬉し涙）

 

 

何と何と、めいさん、5歳にして人生初の嬉し涙を流したんですよ！そして、それを偶然にもカメラに収められたんですよ！（よくやった、自分！）
Oh my, she got her first ever happy tears!!! Luckily, I could record the precious moment in my camera as well! (Great job, me!!) 

 

 

いやぁ、我が子が涙を流して喜んでる姿って何物にも代えがたいですよねぇ。Hit-chan自身も本当に嬉しかったです。
It was an incomparable feeling to see your child having happy tears. I was extremely pleased to see her priceless reaction. 

 

 

クリスマスより随分以前に、めいとターゲット（イオンみたいなお店）に行った時に売り場にあったキラキラの可愛い赤い靴を見て以来ずっと、「めいちゃん、キラキラの赤い靴が欲しい！」と言っていたのです。
The story began some months before Christmas when May-chan and I were shopping at Target. May-chan found a pair of sparkly red shoes on a disply and told me, "May-chan wants the cute sparkly red shoes!!" 

 

 

それからの間「赤いキラキラの靴」という言葉が口から出ていたのですが、しばらく経って聞かなくなったのですが、クリスマスが近づいた頃、「めいちゃん、サンタさんに何のプレゼントお願いしたい？」と聞いたら、食い気味で「赤いキラキラの靴！」と答えたので、「おー、まだ覚えていたんや。こりゃ、本気で欲しいんやな。」と気づきました。
She mentioned about the red sparkly shoes some times after the shopping and stopped bringing them up for a while. Then, when Chrismas was getting close, "May-chan, what do you want to ask Santa?"  I asked her and then "The red sparkly shoes!!" she answered in 1 second. "Wow!! She still remembers about the shoes!! She really wants them." I realized at the point. 

 

 

 

もうそれはそれは大喜びで、すぐにその場で履いたのはもちろん、他のプレゼントを開けている最中もチラチラ自分の足を眺めて悦に浸っておりました。
Just as the video showed you, May-chan was super excited for the shoes and put them on right away. Even while we were opening other presents, she took a glance at her feet every other second and gloated over her dream shoes. 

 

 

こんな感じでグランマとグランパの家にいる間ずーっと履いていました。
Of course, she worn them all the time while we're at Dad&Mom's. 

 

 

めいが生まれてから毎年作って贈っている家族カレンダー。（パパママ分、ブラッド君分、自分達分と毎年3バージョン作っております。）
Since May-chan was born, May-chan gives family calendars to everyone. (Though, I'm the one who makes 3 versions of them, for Dad&Mom, Brad and us.) 

 

 

前編同様、我が家は100個近いプレゼントを交換するので、全部を紹介してたらキリがないのですが、本当にたくさんの素敵なプレゼントを頂きました。（ちなみにHit-chanはAndyっちから高価なプレゼント2個も頂きまして、恐縮でございました。感謝。）
Like I said on the last artilcle, our family exchanges literally about 100 presents, so I can't show you every single on of them here, but I got a lot of lovely gifts from everyone as always. 
(I personally got 2 very expensive presents from Andy, which kind of overwhelmed me. Thanks though!)

 

 

クリスマス当日もこんな感じでたくさんプレゼントを開けて、楽しい家族団欒の時間を過ごす事ができました。
Thanks to everything and everyone in our lives, we could have such a wonderful time on Christmas again. 

 

 

 

クリスマス翌日、この日帰宅する予定だった私達ですが、朝はゆっくり過ごしました。
On the next day after Christmas, we were planning to head back home that day, but had a very lazy morning. 

 

 

 

めいさんはグランパやグランマと遊んでもらいご機嫌。この時ももちろん、サンタさんからもらった赤い靴履いてます。(笑)
May-chan was having fun with playing with Grandma or Grandpa in the morning. Needless to say, she's wearing the red shoes. LOL

 

ママとブラッド君がクリベッジというカード＆ボードゲームを楽しんでいるのを観戦。
（いつもはブラッド君が勝つ事が多いのに、この日は何とママが三連勝！）
Mom and Brad were playing Cribbage and May-chan and I enjoyed watching them play. 
(They said Brad usually won, but Mom won 3 games in a row that day!)  

 

 

こんな感じでゆったりした時間を楽しむ事ができました。
Like this, our Christmas 2023 was very calm and quiet overall, but it was very fun and full of joy as well, 

 

 

翌日27日に用事があったので、我が家は26日に自宅に帰ったのですが、大きなトラブルも無く、本当に素敵なホリデーを過ごす事ができて感謝感謝です。
Andy and I had a chore on the 27th, so we got back to our house on the 26th. Thankfully, we didn't have any trouble or something and spent such a nice holiday time.
