ロシア第１テレビは、マレーシア航空１７便がウクライナ上空にいた最後の数秒を捉えた外国（ロシア側は、当時偶然撃墜時刻上空にいた米国偵察衛星の存在を発表、米国に画像の公表を求めていたが米国はノーコメント）の偵察衛星によるものと見られる映像を入手したことを明らかにしました。この映像は同テレビのサイトにも公表されていまので、誰でも簡単に見つけることができます。
ロシア第1テレビは、ロシア技師連盟のイヴァン・アンドリエフスキー第1副会長を呼んで、この映像を精査し公開しました。アンドリエフスキー氏によれば、この映像は航空専門家歴20年のジョージ・ビルト氏からロシア技師連盟に送られてきたものだそうです。
ビルト氏は、マレーシア機はこれを追跡していたジェット戦闘機によって撃墜、コックピットが砲撃され、その後、２発の空対空ミサイルで攻撃されたあと、今度は右エンジンと右翼が光波ホーミング誘導方式のミサイルで攻撃されたと言っています・・・射撃レンジは700mから赤外線誘導ミサイルR-73を発射と言うことになります。
ビルト氏から届けられた電子メールには添付のビデオがあり、戦闘機の左翼下部から、コックピットを正確に狙ってミサイルが発射されるようすが克明に映し出されている。
アンドリエフスキー氏は、この映像の詳細分析を行った結果、写真分析等では加工した痕跡はないとのことで、また「当時上空にはアメリカのスパイ衛星がいた」、マレーシア機撃墜ではアメリカの偵察衛星の上空通過と撃墜が偶然にも？時間がぴったりと一致していたことは既にロシア側が発表していました。事件当初から、ロシア派は無関係という話は多くあったのですが、報道されることもなく親ロシア派の仕業だと報道されました。偶然にも、近くを数時間違いでロシアのプーチン大統領搭乗機が飛行しており、プーチン大統領機を狙ったという説も根強いようです。
アメリカの報道官は、今回の画像等について何故か「一切ノーコメント」としていました。何故反論しないのか不思議ですね。
提供された動画の静止画とされる画像では、Su-27（実際はMIG-29）もしくはその派生型と思われる戦闘機、そして直線上にMH17便とされる旅客機が写し出されています。戦闘機からは胴体に近い左翼付近からミサイルのようなものが飛行する跡が確認できます。
旅客機と戦闘機の距離は、MH17と比較し11機分離れていたと言われており、墜落したMH17はボーイング777(777-200)で全長約6１m、約670m位離れているようです。画像からはボーイング777とSu-27（MIG-29）のサイズを比較したところSu-27（MIG－２９）が小さく写っていることからMH17から見ると右下の低い位置を飛行していたということになるようです。
この写真に一部異論があります、グーグル・アースで公開されている雲の形状が一部一致するというものです。 同じエリアで同じ形をした雲が確認出来る・・・この部分は何とも言えません。

映像が撮影された時間は、画像の下部にはUTC 1:19:47(世界時 1時19分47秒)と記されています。日本の日経新聞の撃墜時間は、モスクワ発表現地時間５時２０分と発表しています。（MSKモスクワ時間、世界時との時差: UTC+3、冬時間等が有ります。）しかし、オランダの安全委員会によるとフライトデータから世界時 13時20分頃に墜落したとされており、時間としては12時間？あまりの差・・・フライトデータは何故か封印、未公表・・・オランダ側発表時間は？
行方不明マレーシア機（ＭＨ３７０）と、公表されているウクライナ上空で撃墜された機体（ＭＨ１７）写真・・・細部を精査するとＭＨ３７０と全く同じであると言う説があります。行方不明機（ＭＨ３７０）が撃ち落された可能性が出てきます。
