昨日紹介した“ Almost Famous ”のキャメロン・クロウ監督の新作のニュースをお馴染みツボヤキ氏のブログで知った。
で、まずはと思いこの“ Elizabethtown ”と名付けられた映画のオフィシャルサイトをhttp://www.elizabethtown.com/index.html覗いてみると、「オーランド・ブルームのファンでなくても、キルスティン・ダンストが苦手でも、きっと気に入っていただけそうな気配が充満している」という氏の意見に思わず納得の期待感をたっぷり持ちたくなるような仕上がり。（アメリカ公開2005年10月14日）

オフィシャルサイトの INTERNET FIRST LOOK のところをクリックすると流れてくる“ My Father's Gun ”に思わず聴き入ってしまい、おかげで昨日から我が iPod shuffule ではこの曲と“ Tiny Danser ”そしてマイ・フェヴァリット・チューンである“ Goodbye Yellow Brick Road ”がヘヴィーローテーション中。
まあそれはさておき、日本では「エルトン・ジョン３」と面白くもなんともないタイトルが付けられてしまったエルトン・ジョン３枚目のアルバム“ TUMBLEWEED CONNECTION ”の中にこの曲は収められています。
そしてこのアルバム、改めて聴いてみると、当時「ロックの吟遊詩人」と言われていたエルトン・ジョンの面目躍如なる、かなり染み入る曲がこんなにあったんだと再認識。おすすめです。
機会があれば、どこぞでレンタルしてでも聴いてみてください。
それにしても確か高校１年生のときそのエルトン・ジョンのコンサートの模様がテレビで流れるという画期的なことがあったけれど、当時日本テレビのネット局がなかったため部活をサボってわざわざ隣の県の親戚の家に、ただそれだけのために出かけていったこともありました。ウーム。
