　大きく豪華になる近年のピックアップトラックに比べると、シンプルで機能美を感じる1980年代のトヨタの小型ピックアップトラックには魅力を感じる。このe-bayの市場に出ているSR5はフレームオフレストレーションが施されほぼ全てをオリジナルで仕上げている。オリジナルのトヨタブルーに塗装された外観を見ると、我がロクマルも手直しを施せばこんなに美しく輝くんだな、という事が分かる。

　レストレーションにもいろいろレベルがある。そのレベルの中でもフレームオフレストレーションを施す車体というのは一般的な理解で、そこまでやる価値のあるクルマかどうかという最初のハードルがあるはずだ．．．そう考えると、SR5は既にそのハードルを越えているんじゃないだろうか。更に、将来のアメリカにおいては80年代のSR5が近年のタコマを超えて行く可能性もあるという事も起こりうる事かも。

FRAME OFF restoration! Better than OEM. No expense spared and nothing overlooked

Rust free frame was sand blasted and epoxie coated satin black. No rust repair to the frame whatsoever.

Suspension has been completely gone through.

Rust free body has been refinished in PPG paint with 2042 Clearcoat. 

22R Engine is bullet proof with legendary reliability but has always been considered under powered.

Pacesetter exhaust manifold and webber carburetor are the solution. The Toyota has plenty of power now for daily driving.

Manual transmission shifts perfectly and the clutch is like new.

4x4 engages smoothly and works 100%.

Factory chrome wheels with center caps are perfect. Wrapped in Goodyear Wrangler RT/S rubber with aprox 90% tread remaining.

Engine bay and underneath are extremely clean. The bed is perfect like in never hauled anything.

All original interior really reflects the low mileage. No smoke odors, stains or abuse. Everything works as it should.
