きゅうりの収穫期が終わった。ささやかな菜園は、普通サイズのトマトを5つばかり食卓に供してさらに、炎天下で10ばかりの大ぶりなトマトの実を育んだ。隣の黄色いプチトマトも、数えきれないほどの実をつけて朝日に輝いてみえる。ネギに青シソ、ピーマン、オクラも良く採れる。この熱射に高温多湿で野菜たちの生命が煌めいている。
この2，3日というもの35度に近い高温が続いたから水遣りを控えめにしてきた。降雨は今日の午後という予報だった。ところが山沿いの気象は気まぐれだ。住宅街は早朝から通り雨に見舞われた。
早朝の雨
