ICR-E2 FEN(currentry called AFN) receiver

in 1983 manufactured by Sony corporation.

Looks just small AM receiver but. . .

I can't find tuning dial and volume ???

So, no need to tuning dial because this can receive only FEN !

Volume also not variable just switchable in two positions(high and low).

Who will understand such kind of Radio was sold.

But SONY released two color variations.

Unfortunately FEN(Far East Network) change station name to AFN(American Forces Network).

But they did not changed frequency and I can receive AFN same as FEN.

YAMAHA AS-1 two stroke sports

in 1968 released by YAMAHA corporation.

Currently, the two stroke engine being persecuted all over the world because of the environmental
pollution issue.

But at that time, most small motorcycle have two stroke engine because two stroke engine give us good power and good feeling than four cycle one.

AS-1 is first YAMAHA machine which have 125cc twin engine.

Two 43mm diameter pistons output maximum 15 horse power and 130km/h.

This is very exciting specification !

Shrill exhaust sound and smoke also very exciting !

Unfortunately, 125cc class motorcycle changed to single piston model for manufacturing cost.

But I love such kind of motorcycle which have two stroke twin engine and I call LITTLE TWIN.

I would like to support two stroke machine.

Stellavox SP-7 portable open reel tape recorder

I am very happy to introduce such an excellent machine.

It's a Stellavox SP-7 !!!

Because this is a real dream machine for outdoor recording !

Unfortunately, I ma not sure exact release date and price.

But may released in 1970 and near million yen.

Mechanism, Specifications, Design . . . and price, everything are good enough for satisfy the all enthusiast.

I understand, I have serious responsibility to keep condition of this ART.

5 years ago, I found this ART at the corner of small second-hand shop in local city.

Of course, I negotiate to master of this shop immediately and could get for reasonable price for me.

And she joined my treasures.

TC-D5 PRO II portable cassette tape recorder

in 1978(?) manufactured by Sony corporation

[DENSUKE] is possible to operate dry battery for outside recording called Nama-Roku.

This model was released in 1978(sorry I am not sure) which real final model of DENSUKE series.

Last time, I introduced TC-4550SD as final model of DENSUKE but SONY official final model in TC-D5 series.

First model of TC-D5 did not support Metal Tape but TC-D5 give us small size, right weight and of course goos sound quality.

After that, Sony released TC-D5M which have Metal position.

Sony also released TC-D5M PRO for professional sound market and TC-D5M PRO grow up to TC-D5M PRO II but unfortunately PRO model did not get Metal position until discontinued.

You can see the XLR connector located on side panel.

These connector are proof of Professional model !

I think 139,860JYEN in not too expensive.

ICF-5600 short wave receiver

in 1974 manufactured by Sony corporation

[SKY SENSOR] is possible to receive shortwave comes from overseas countries.

This model was released in 1974 which may called most fashionable model of the Skysensor series.

Most Sony enthusiast may choose ICF-5800 is real BCL receiver in the Skysensor series.

BUT this time, I introduce ICF-5600 for one of Dream machine.

Because I know ICF-5800 have good industrial design for receiver but I think ICF-5600 have beautiful design.

Can you see circle tuning dial and meter.

What a nice View !

Sony brochure mentioned "ICF-5600 is good for FM broadcasting" and you can listen stereo music using stereo head phone adapter(option).

You can also see a NULL indicator for especially FM tuning.

Price is very similar to ICF-5800 as 20,500JYEN(ICF-5800 is 20,800JYEN) therefore most people may choose ICF-5800.

TC-4550SD portable cassette tape recorder

in 1976 manufactured by Sony corporation

[DENSUKE] is possible to operate dry battery for outside recording called Nama-Roku.

This model was released in 1976 which may called final model of DENSUKE series.

Currently Sony corporation have portable cassette recorder model TC-D5M but I think I should be call TC-4550SD is final model of DENSUKE.

This photograph is magnify level meter and recording level control knobs and you can understand design of TC-D5M already establish on TC-4550SD.

Price is very high like 158,000JYEN and could not buy such kind of model for high school student.

I also know, audio machine can not evaluate only specifications but . . . "Direct drive" , "Peak meter" are enough for exciting me.

THIS IS REAL DREAM MACHINE !

「デンスケ」
それは、野外での録音を目的に発売されていたソニー社製のバッテリー駆動可能な高性能録音機の総称。

これは1976年に発売されたデンスケの最終モデルと言っても良いと思われる銘機だ。

現在もソニー社からは、TC-D5Mと呼ばれるデンスケ本当の最終モデルが発売されているが、TC-4550SDを抜きにしてデンスケは語れないだろう。

今回の写真は、メータとレベル調整部分のアップを撮影してアップしたが、TC-D5Mのデザインもすでにこの頃に確立されていたことをうかがい知る事が出来る。

価格も158,000と当時としては破格の高額商品だったので、高校生の僕にはとても手に入れることが出来るものではなかった。

オーディオ機器は、スペックだけでは語れないことは充分にわかっていたつもりだが、「ダイレクト・ドライブ」、「ピークホールド・メータ」等のカタログ文字に心を躍らせないわけにはいかなかった！

今になって手に入れることが出来た、夢のマシンだ！
