Doha: Kashima Antlers of Japan has scored their second win in the Al Kass International Cup Under-17 tournament at the Aspire Zone yesterday beating Al Jazira 3-1, while Barcelona started their campaign with an impressive victory thrashing Al Ahly 3-0.
In their inaugural match in Group A on Monday Kashima had overcome Juventus of Italy with the same margin. The Japanese club have now six points from two matches.
Al Jazira lost their two matches and will meet Juventus in the last group match.
The Japanese team has a special guest on hand to congratulate them after their victory over Al Jazira – Ambassador Kenjiro Monji. Monji was on hand after the match to present the MVP prize alongside special advisor to the secretary general of the United Nations on Sport and Development for Peace Wilfired Lemke to Kashima’s Masaki Takada.
Monji congratulated them on their performances so far in the tournament and urged them to continue to be good representatives of their country.
In Group B, French club PSG and Barcelona are on top with three points each while Al Ahly lost their two matches.
