a calm Saturday

It was cloudy, turning clear later in the day.

I had a calm day today.

In the morning, I vacuumed my rooms,
polished the floor and did the laundry.

In the afternoon, I went to my daughter's
to stay at her home.

Everybody in her family was busy and out.

I was asked to receive a home delivered package
from Kyushu.

My daughter's father-in-law sent her family
broad beans, そらまめ, he had grown
in his vegetable garden.

----------- ---------

My daughter's husband came home first.

He boiled some broad beans in his own way.

We enjoyed them with a little salt.

We drank beer, too!

I drank about 100ml. Good!

I went back to my apartment happily,
walking along Tamagawa-josui.

to Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum

Yesterday, a friend of mine came to Tokyo
from Niigata.

She joined us, I mean Mrs. M and me,
and we met at the Koen gate of Ueno Station.

We walked to Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum
東京都美術館 at Ueno Park to enjoy the exhibition –
Bruegel’s The Tower of Babel.
(ブリューゲルの「バベルの塔」展)

On the way to the museum,
I was excited to see
えちご長岡・佐渡広域観光フェア going on.

Oh, my hometown!

The museum was crowded.

I was glad to see Bruegel’s painting—
The Tower of Babel with my own eyes.

We, three ladies, had a late lunch at a restaurant
in the museum.

I was surprised I had a good appetite and enjoyed
the chef’s recommendation with some wine!

We moved to the lounge next to the restaurant.

We had a lively conversation going until 4:30.

What a nice day I had!
Thank you so much, Ladies!

talking to myself

I feel I've lost a lot of strength
since my weight fell from 46 kg to 40kg.

My appetite is coming back
but my weight has not gone up.

I am happy I do not feel any pain.
I’m sorry I get easily tired these days.

Oh, how I wish I could volunteer to work
as a waitress in the community café!

I often go there as a customer to enjoy talking
over green tea.

I prefer to work as a voluntary waitress
instead of being a customer.

Will the day come again when I'll work
as a voluntary waitress in the community café?

Probably, NO.

-------------

Anyway I am happy I have 「今日行く(places to go)」
and「今日用 (things to do)」every day.

Yesterday I went to 山口宏子san's exhibition
of photographs of 神楽の里 with two friends of mine.

It was held at PHOTO GALLERY in 新東京ビル.

山口宏子-san is a member of 能楽写真家協会.

神楽の里 means 宮城県石巻市北上町十三浜の大室地区,
which was totally destroyed by a tsunami caused
by The Great East Japan Earthquake 3.11.

People in 大室地区 lost everything but they decided
to restore their traditional performance art, 神楽.

山口宏子-san visited Tohoku many times and has been
watching how they are coming back to their life again.

We attended her gallery talk show.
She told us how 大室南部神楽 was restored.

A 能楽笛方 came to the show and played a tune on the 笛.

The tune sounded like a requiem.

He also told us how important it is not to forget
The Great East Japan Earthquake 3.11.

Every photo in the exhibition moved me deeply.

The meeting was over around 3:00 p.m. and
we walked toward to Tokyo Station.

On the way we saw a double-deck bus running
and wanted to try on a double-decker.

We enjoyed seeing the sights of central Tokyo
for 50 minutes by double-deck bus.

The course was as follows:
三菱ビル ⇒ 東京タワー ⇒ レインボーブリッジ ⇒
豊洲 ⇒ 晴海 ⇒ 築地 ⇒ 銀座 ⇒ 三菱ビル.

Thank you very much
for a happy day, Ladies!

walking to Koganei Park, alone

I enjoyed walking to Koganei Park on April 30.

I went there alone but I enjoyed talking
to two ladies.

Yes, I enjoyed 一期一会.

All the cherry blossoms have gone.

It is May, the season of fresh green leaves.

What a peaceful lunch picnic!

There was a wisteria trellis.(藤棚)

芝桜 was enjoying mild spring sunlight.

I went to Koganei Park walking along Tamagawa-josui.

How nice to stroll
along Tamagawa-josui!

I walked 17356 steps in a day.
