to be over today here in Tokyo.

It is reported the rainy season has ended in Niigata.
But in Tokyo we are still in the rainy season.

It seems to me the rainy season in Tokyo is getting
longer and that in Niigata is getting shorter.

During the rainy season they had a heavy rain
in Kyushu and in the Western Japan.

But in Niigata and in Tokyo we didn't have such
a heavy rain as in Kyushu.

I'm afraid there will be
a serious water shortage this summer.

Today Mai-chan, a member of Rio Olympic athletes,
left for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Ms. 村上茉愛 is an athlete
of the Artistic Gymnastics.

She is a daughter of one of my friends in Tokyo.

I've known her since she was a little girl.

She is now a second year student at college.

The Mayor of Kodaira City gave
a send- off party（壮行会）for her.

How excited I am to send her
to the Rio Olympics!

on my way back

Today, it was hot and muggy around noon.

At that time I was walking back to my apartment
after checking the locks of my daughter's house.

I walked along Tamagawa-josui.



Oh, how I wish I could walk in the mountains!

I remember having a wonderful time walking
in the mountains or highlands.

Sweat was pouring down my face.

I was happy to see the blue sky.

Are you tired or sleepy?
Are you hungry?

I'm sure my appetite is growing
but strange to say, I can't tell what I'd like to eat.

I'm happy I can enjoy walking in the neighborhood.

It was reported that the temperature in Tokyo
today went up to 36.7 ℃---
the hottest day I’ve had this summer.

I wonder how many hot days we'll have this summer.

I'm worrying about my poor appetite in summer.

I'm glad my appetite is improving little by little for now.
