unsettled weather

The weather has been so changeable
these days.

On a beautiful day we suddenly have
a local thunderstorm
---a storm with thunder, lightning and
heavy rain or hail.
Tornados sometimes do a lot of damage.

Today's high will be 28℃ here in Tokyo.
It's cloudy and humid.

Is autumn approaching?
No, I don't think so.
The temperature will go up to 34℃
tomorrow.

I feel so lazy.　（けだるい）
How about you?
Are you all right?

There are a lot of typhoons this year.
Typhoon no.21 is slowly moving north
toward Japan.

I hope we'll have no more damage
in the typhoon.

What a beautiful day!

This morning I was humming
an old song 空よ by トワ・エ・モワ
while walking to my daughter's.

♪空よ　水色の空よ
雲の上に夢をのせて
空よわたしの心よ
思い出すの幼い日を♪

The sun was shining
but I didn't feel hot at all.

The sky was so blue.

The humidity in the air was
probably low.

The wind was blowing hard.

Oh, I felt so happy.

The spirits of the dead are believed
to come back to us during O-bon.

I used to go back to Niigata
to visit my family's tomb in the mountain
and my husband's tomb in the city.

I'm sorry I've been too weak to go back
to Niigata.

How I wish I could see my dear husband
and talk to him!

How I wish I could see my dear parents
and my little brother!

I'm sure they will all come back to me
here in Tokyo.

I'm looking forward to seeing You
and talking to You.

Koshien High School Baseball

The 100th National High School
Baseball Championship has started
at Koshien Stadium.

I've just watched the opening ceremony
on TV.

All the high school boys looked tense
with some　excitement
when they were marching in procession.

Mr. Nakao, captain of Ohmi Senior High
School, made an oath as follows:

「記念すべき年に野球ができることに感謝
し、多くの人々に笑顔と感動を与えられる、
最も熱い本気の夏にすることを誓います」

The stadium was filled with spectators.

I am worried about this intense summer
heat.

I hope nobody suffers from heatstroke.
