with younger ladies

The day before yesterday we, five ladies, had lunch
at an Italian restaurant.

We met at a ticket gate at a station on the Seibu Line.

I didn’t know where the restaurant was.

They took me to the restaurant.

It was within an easy walk from the station.

We had set lunch for 900 yen--salad, pasta and coffee.

We had a fine lunch.

After eating lunch, one of the ladies invited us to her
house.

At her house we enjoyed watching pictures of London
taken by her.

She took those pictures when she visited her son
in London this summer. How I missed London!

Another lady had just returned from Thailand and told us
about her life there.

She visited her elder daughter who lives in Chiang Mai,
Thailand.

How interesting to listen to her life in Thailand!

We talked a lot about many things.

We had a very good time.

cluster amaryllis in Kinchakuda

Yesterday Ms.HK and I went to Kinchakuda in Hidaka City
to see 曼珠沙華, cluster amaryllis.

We changed our trains four times and arrived
at Koma Station.

Then we started to walk from the station.

On the way there were many vegetable stands
and I bought 里芋 and two bags of茗荷.

里芋 and a bag of 茗荷 were for my daughter's
family and a bag of 茗荷 for me.

This was Ms. HK-san’s first visit to 巾着田.

We were excited to see 曼珠沙華 at their best.

How beautiful!

harmonica concert

The annual harmonica concert was given

Our instructor is one of its main organizers.
Ten of us, Harmonica Circle, enjoyed the concert.

The concert lasted for three hours---too long!

I admired the performance of M.E.Q. deeply.
Our instructor, Mr. Satoh, is the leader of its group.

M.E.Q. stands for Modern Enka Quartette.

They played

After the concert we went to a coffee shop,
ordered ケーキセット and enjoyed talking.

I walked back to my apartment alone---forty minutes or.

dinner with my friend

I seldom dine with my friends in the evening,
because I do not like to go home in the dark.

My apartment is situated near tamagawa-josui
and it is very dark in the evening.

My friend and I had dinner out tonight.

I was not afraid of coming back to my apartment
late in the dark tonight.

Why?

My friend lives next to my apartment.

She has been taking care of her old parents
for six months or so.

We have dinner out when her elder brother comes
to see their parents---once a month.

I think she needs some rest.

She and I talked and laughed away this evening.

花籠 at a restaurant いらか was delicious!

One of the waiters there spoke very good English.

We enjoyed talking to him in English.

Showa Kinen Park in September

This morning I got up just at seven.
I had breakfast at half past seven.

While doing some housework, I decided to go
to Showa Kinen Park.

According to TV news,
started on September 17.

I like cosmoses very much.

I took the train on the Seibu Line, then on JR Chuo Line
and arrived at Tachikawa Station.

I walked from Tachikawa Station to Showa Kinen Park.

It was a little early for cosmoses at their best.
They were just coming out.

There were not many people coming to Showa Kinen Park.
Maybe it was too hot to be outside, I thought.

I often sat in the shade of trees.
I was sweating all over.

I enjoyed being outside--- in Showa Kinen Park.

I walked 17495 steps today.
