Awfully hot, isn't it?

It's June 27 today.

Isn't it too hot for this time of year?

Are we in high summer?

I can't have a good sleep.

I don't have a good appetite.

I'm suffering from the summer heat
in June!

The older I get,
the harder I find it to spend summer.

I'm afraid if I can survive
the summer heat this year.

Don't lose heart, karin!

on the day of summer solstice

Was the day longest today?

It was cloudy
and no sunlight poured into my room.

I went to my daughter's house twice---
around 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Before going to my daughter's house
in the afternoon,

I went to the community café
where I used to work
as a volunteer waitress.

I enjoyed talking to many people there.

We chattered happily on about this and that.

Chattering makes seniors happy and healthy.

Mrs. Miya's sudden death

I've just heard
Mrs. Miya suddenly died last week.

I wrote about Mrs. Miya on April 27.

I am terribly shocked!

She lived by herself in the apartment
as I do.

She was dead in the bathroom,
I heard.

=======

What happened to you, Mrs. Miya?

You were younger than I by 5 years.

You looked very good
when you came to see me on June 2.

You promised to take me
to a new supermarket.

You promised to fry お好み焼き for me
when my appetite improved.

Oh, I really miss you, Mrs. Miya.

May your soul
rest in peace!

new teacher in Friday English Class

Our new American teacher,
Ms. MB, is very young.

She has two daughters---
one is 3 years old and the other 2.

This is her first experience to teach English.

She wants to be a teacher
when she goes back to America.

She is so cheerful.
She makes us happy.
She is so diligent.
She is trying her best to teach us English.

Today we studied English grammar
---Verb and Tenses.(動詞と時制)

1. Past Continuous
2. Present Simple Passive
3. Present Perfect
4. Future Intent
5. Present Perfect Continuous
6. Past Simple Passive
7. Future Prediction
8. Present Simple
9. Present Continuous
10.Past Simple

Then we enjoyed
‘Personal Information Quiz.’

Answering the following, we decided
the names of the tenses used in the answers.

When did you last see a film?
How many times have you been abroad?
What type of books do you like reading?
When was your car made?
How long have you been learning English?
What will the weather be like tomorrow?
What were you doing at 7 o’clock yesterday evening?
What are your parents doing?
Where are your classes taught?
What are you going to do after this course finishes?

Ms. MB says,
”Oh, how difficult to teach English Grammar!
I myself have to study much harder.”

I'm sure she will be a good teacher.

my favorite radio program on Sunday

Every Sunday morning,
I listen to the radio program

It starts at 8:05 and ends at 8:55.

I've been a great fan of this radio program
for a long, long time.

It's Sunday morning and I've just listened
to the program.

Usually I enjoy classical music on the program

They performed

As I've been so much moved
by these pieces,
I can't but write down here about my feelings.

Listening to these golden oldies,
I was filled with nostalgic sweetness.

All right. Let’s get started.
Have a nice day, everybody!
