In Shinshu they had the heaviest snow they had ever had
in these 20 years.

I heard that it had been snowing all day on the day before I
went to Norikura. Some roads we wanted to go through were
closed because of heavy snow.

They were busy clearing the snow to welcome tourists for
'Golden Week' holidays.

I was happy I had nice weather during my stay in Norikura.
In the southern part of Norikura the sun was melting the
snow away.

I'm home from Norikura!

I returned home around six this evening.
Kamikochi and Norikura were great places to go hiking.

On the first day it was raining when I left Tokyo
but the sky cleared up in Kamikochi.

I walked along the Azusa-gawa River from Kappa-bashi
Bridge to Myojin-ike Pond. Then again I returned to
Kappa-bashi Bridge where my bus was waiting for me.

There is a lovely park named 'tsutsuji-kouen'
near my daughter's house.

I passed by the park on my way home today.
Nobody was there but those bright-colored flowers,
tsutsuji, were at their best.

I'm going to Shinshu tomorrow and will enjoy walking
along the Azusagawa River (Kamikochi) or at the foot
of Mt.Norikura. I'll be back on April 29, Greenery Day.

See you soon.

my karin 3

To my surprise I've found today that my karin is about
to bear a fruit.

Will it grow bigger and bigger? My karin is only three
years old, and so it is too early to bear fruit this year.

Next to my karin, there is a bigJapanese pepper tree
(sanshou) and it attracts many bees or butterflies every
year.

Probably they like my karin, too.
