Do you take a newspaper? I do. My daily routine starts with reading the newspaper.
One of my friends said to me, "These days more and more advertisements appear in a newspaper. It's silly to pay much money for advertisements I don't read, isn't it?"
So I have just checked today's newspaper I take.
Today's news paper has 36 pages. Oh my!
10 pages out of 36 pages have full-page advert!
8 pages have half-page advertisements.
11 pages have 1/3-page advertisements.
6 pages have 1/4-page advertisements.
Only one page has no advertisement.
To my surprise about 53% of today's newspaper is occupied by advertisements !
I am sorry I don't read these advertisements at all. I don't want to pay money for these advertisements. I pay 3925 yen a month to the paper shop.
I hear newspaper subscription will be raised next year. No, it should not be allowed. The newspaper publishers should reduce the price of newspapers, I mean newspaper subscriptin rate,---
at least by 30%.

新聞広告は第三種郵便物なので、紙面の５０％を越える広告を掲載できません。
でも、広告費が新聞社の収入の約半分なので、購読料がほぼ制作費に当てられてます。
でも、新聞社の給与が高すぎるのも事実です。
