I was warmly welcomed by my friends and neighbors in Niigata.
I enjoyed a very good time.
The main event during my stay in Niigata was
visiting my husband's graveyard.
It was too early for the Bon Festival.
But I was sure my dear husband came to see me for the Bon.
I bought a bunch of white 'toruko-kikyou' for him.
As soon as I arrived at my vacant house in Niigata,
I did the housecleaning.
It was a hot day and sweat poured from me.
Alas! Something was wrong with the boiler!
I could not take a bath!
On the first night, my neighbor kindly prepared a bath for me.
Thank you very much, Mrs. Su.
On the second day, I met a dear friend, whom I meet
whenever I go back to Niigata.
I took a bath at her house.
Thank you very much, Mr. and Mrs. Mi.
On the third day, a new and expensive boiler was put in.
What a relief!
I stayed overnight at a hotel in Iwamuro, 40 minutes' drive
from my house. I enjoyed soaking in a hot spring with my
dear friends in Niigata. I had not seen them for a long time.
We had a charming time together.
On my way to Tokyo, on the Shinkansen for Tokyo,
I enjoyed talking with an old gentleman who sat next to me.
We talked about and discussed a variety of topics ranging
from politics to child education.
I came back to Tokyo and went to a nursery home for the aged
to play the harmonica as a volunteer.
I had very, very busy days until yesterday.
NO DAY BUT TODAY.
I'll always try my hardest.
Tomorrow I'm going to Norikura-kogen and Kami-koucho.
I'll be back on Tuesday night.
See you soon.
