Death of Mr .K

I am deeply shocked to hear of the death of Mr. K. He used to say he would choose death before dishonor. What a relief to know that he died a natural death after being in bed for four years. Mrs. K was the perfect wife and did her best to take care of him. He died a calm death on March 29, 2004 ---at the age of 89.

Mr.and Mrs. K had lived abroad for many years before they came back and lived in my neighborhood in 1974. That was the year when my husband died from leukemia leaving 6-year-old daughter and me. Mr.and Mrs. K were so kind to us. They had no children, and they loved my daughter as if she were their child.

Mr. K loved animals --any animals so much. He seemed to understand what they talked and thought. Yes, he was a Doctor Dolittle in Japan! He recommended us to keep two dogs, brothers, which we named Pepe & Bull. My daughter and I were so happy to welcome our new members Mr. and Mrs. K helped us take care of our dogs. Mr. K always said that ready-made dog food was not good for dogs So his wife cooked well-balanced dinner for them---not for us.

The younger dog suddenly died from heart attack while taking a walk in the evening.. He was 6 years old. The elder one lived until he was 16 years old. He died in my arms. Soon after that Mr.and Mrs. K went back to their hometown. I am very sorry I've visited them only twice since they moved out.

Please accept my sincere condolences on your husband's death, Mrs. K
