Hilo, the Big Island of Hawaii ハワイ島 ヒロ
キラウエア火山国立公園

Our ship left for Hilo Port, the Big Island of Hawaii
and arrived there on the morning of March 25.

Having breakfast at a buffet restaurant, we all met
on the 5th floor.

Today’s highlight is to see the Kilauea Crater.

Kilauea is an active volcano.
I was excited to see it.

We walked in the forest and through the lave tube.

Kahului, Maui マウイ島・カフルイ港に寄港、停泊
Haleakala, dormant volcano ハレアカラ火山噴火口見学

The Pride of America docked in Kahului, Maui.
We visited Haleakala National Park, where we were
to see Haleakala Crater which is 3055 meters high.

The local guide said, “There are few fine days there.
It rains a lot. It is raining and you will not see the volcano.”

She was right. The weather was changeable---rainy, sunny
or cloudy. On the way a rainbow arched in the field.

The crater was not seen at all.

How I wished I could see the view like this!

It was fine at the foot of the mountain.
