JR disaster in Hyogo

It was at noon that I knew about the disaster. The news said 18 people died and 200 people were injured at noon.

But now the new says 54 people died and 417 people were injured. Several people are still left in the car and rescue workers are trying to save them. May all of them be alive.

The train was crowded with a lot of commuters. 4 out of 7 cars were derailed. The derailed cars hit several vehicles.

The first two cars crashed into a nine-story apartment complex.. What a terrible shock the passengers had!

Why did the train derail? Deadly speed at the curve? A stone on the rail? Some problems of the body of the train? An inexperienced driver?

I fear something is falling apart in Japan.

child abuse

We often used to say the proverb, "Well fed, well bred. (ishoku tarite reisetsu o shiru)" It means one will have correct social or moral behavior, if one has a plenty of food and clothing.

Nowadays the proverb is no longer right. Many people commit a crime or repeat anti-social behavior, even if they have enough food and clothing.

I think it will be the saddest thing for all parents to accept death of their own son or daughter. Children are our most valuable and precious beings.

Why is "child abuse" increasing in Japan? I think one of the reasons might be the increase of small families. In small families parents can't take rest, even when they are too tired to take care of their baby or child. I can imagine their tension or their extreme frustration. Who can help them?

Another reason might be the increase of parents who do not know that nothing is more precious than human life. They don't know what death means, because they have never lost their dear ones. Who can make them know it?

Third reason might be the increase of selfish parents who were spoiled in their childhood. Those parents might love themselves better than their children. Who can educate them?

What can I do to help a child abused by his or her parents ?
What can I do to prevent parents from abusing their children?
