I spent an ordinary day today. It was an uneventful day but at the end of the day I felt very happy when I watched the afterglow of the sunset on my way home. It was such a beautiful sunset which cast a glow over the tall trees of Tamagawa Josui. I thanked that I am living at this moment.
Whenever I watch a sunset, whether it is an ocean sunset or a mountain sunset, I can't help the tears filling my eyes. I don't know why but I always remember my dear husband who died so young and feel so sorry for him. At the same time I realize that only I am living at this moment--then I know I must live out my life.
I went to see the doctor in the morning to have my blood pressure checked. I have high blood pressure inherited from my parents. Thanks to good medicine my blood pressure today was all right.
Then my five year-old- granddaughter came to my apartment having her dolls and toy animals in her bag. I spent an interesting and happy afternoon with her, playing dolls or drawing pictures. He spent 6 hours playing with me!
After many years of patience and solitude, I've now really achieved happiness, I think.
