today's Mt. Fuji

Today I joined a one-day bus tour arranged
by the community center where I enjoy
English and Harmonica.

I went to Motosu in Kawaguchiko-machi
to enjoy "shibazakura-matsuri."

The best season of shibazakura was gone.
The color of shibazakura had completely faded.

But--
I was happy to see Mt. Fuji.
I was happy to see fresh greenery.

Sumo, Yokozuna Hakuho and me

The Summer Grand Sumo Tournament is now being played
in Tokyo.

To tell the truth, I was not so much interested
in any of professional sports.

But now I am a Sumo fan.
Yokozuna Hakuho has made me a Sumo fan.

On December 29 in 2007, a friend of mine took me
to a driving range near her house, because I said
that I had never played or seen golf.

Wow! Yokozuna Hakuho was practicing golf there.
I saw Yokozuna Hakuho and his wife for the first time.

We enjoyed talking a lot.
How frank and friendly he was!

Yokozuna said to me, "Do you watch Sumo on TV?."
I said, "I'm very sorry that I don't."

"Oh! Have an interest in Sumo and cheer me, please,"
he said.

And I said, "I will promise you to watch Sumo
and I'll be a fan of yours. Please try your hardest."

Becoming a fan of Yokozuna Hakuho makes me interested in Sumo.

To be interested in something changes something in life.

koharu's brother's bento

One month has passed since my daughter started
to prepare a bento for her son every morning..

Her son is now a high school boy.

She gets up very early in the morning to prepare a bento.

She fills his bento box with his favorite food.

He likes ni-mono ( satoimo, renkon, shiitake, etc.)
He likes kin-pira too.
He likes grilled or roasted meat or fish.

His bento box is large.
It is always full of his mother's love for him.

I remember the days I prepared a bento for my daughter.

You've grown up to be a good mother, Daughter.

The Spitfire Grill, musical

2009-05-09 23:52:00 | ノンジャンル
Today I enjoyed a musical "The Spitfire Grill"
at the Theatre Creation in Yuraku-cho.
The musical is based on the movie by Lee David Zlotoff.

The Japanese title of the musical "The Spitfire Grill" is
"この森で、天使はバスを降りた."

Three actors and four actress performed on the stage.
I was surprised each of them had a rich voice.

It was a musical of the heart and soul.
The last part of the musical brought tears to my eyes
--yes, happy tears.
