This snow season reminds me of my dear pet dogs. As I wrote before, I had two pet dogs named Pepe and Bull. I got newly born puppies from a neighbor. They grew up to be middle-sized Japanese Shiba dogs. They were really naughty brothers, digging under the fence in the yard or fighting and quarreling constantly. When the two dogs grappled heatedly with each other, I often dashed a little water over their shoulders and tried to make them calm.
They were very good friends, too. I knew how much they loved each other when Bull died at six Bull died suddenly while they were enjoying night walk. It was a great shock not only to me but also to Pepe. Pepe looked as if he had not much energy left for anything---barking, eating or walking.
He would not eat even his favorite food. He would not go out for a walk. I tried to but he would not move. He seemed to inwardly recoiled at my indelicacy. Pepe mourned for Bull nearly 100 days! Pepe missed Bull so much. Pepe had such a tender heart. It was in early summer that Pepe and I got over the loss of Bull. Pepe looked lonely, taking a walk with me.
