We had lunch at a restaurant from which we could see
Mont Saint-Michel.





After lunch we started for Tours.
It was a long way to go ---300 kilometers again.
We had a break on the way.

On the morning of December 23rd, we visited
Mont Saint-Michel Abbey.

There were many shops and hotels along the approach
to the Abbey.











We had to go up a steep slope and stairs.
It was very hard to get to the Abbey.

Here we are! First we went straight to the upper part
of the Abbey.

from Chartres to Mont Saint-Michel

Late in the afternoon, we left Chartres, we left Chartres
for Mont Saint-Michel.

It was a long way to go--about 300 kilometers.
It took 4 hours and a half to get into Mont Saint-Michel.
It was quite dark when we arrived there.

Mont Saint-Michel was decorated with Christmas lights.





The hotel I stayed was on a rocky island Mont Saint-Michel.
The name of the hotel was La Mere Poulard　（ラ・メール・プラール）.
It is a well-known hotel for its omelet and its hospitality.

Yes, I enjoyed its omelet for dinner. It was soft--yes, fluffy.
(I suddenly remembered this word fluffy.)

My room was on the third floor.
There were no elevators, nor escalators. Only stairs!
