(Anne Hathaway's Cottage and Shakespeare's Birthplace in Stratford)

After lunch I visited Anne Hathaway's Cottage,
which is Shakespeare's wife's birthplace.

The cottage is 600 years old. It is a very large with a farm.
It has 12 rooms! Everything I saw there was a surprise.









Next I visited Shakespeare's Birthplace.
Shakespeare was born and died in Stratford-upon-Avon.
I enjoyed walking along the river Avon.

About 44 years ago I had to write a graduation thesis.
I thought that I would never have a chance to read
Shakespeare after graduating school.

His English was too difficult for me to read.
But I decided to read Shakespeare and write about one of his works.
The title of my graduation thesis was "Lear's World in King Lear."

Shakespeare's Birthplace reminded me of my dear school days.

(from the Lake District to Stratford-upon-Avon)

My bus left the hotel in the Lake District
for Stratford-upon-Avon at 8:30.

It was more than 300 kilometers from the Lake District
to Stratford-upon-Avon. It took nearly 5 hours
to arrive there.

I enjoyed beautiful scenery of English countryside
out of my bus window.













As soon as I reached Stratford-upon-Avon,
I had "cottage pie " for lunch at a cottage.
