　ここらで懐かしいビートルズの曲を。これは小生が高校一年生だったか、初めてリアルタイムで買ったビートルズのホワイトアルバム(名前の通りジャケット写真も真っ白で映りません。)のA面一曲目に入っていた曲です。学校に持って行って教室で皆に聴かせた記憶があります。

　その当時はビートルズがアメリカ公演を終えてモスクワ公演に向かう様子を歌ったものなのかなぁと漠然と考えていましたが、今になって歌詞の意味を考えるとBack in USAをヒントにしたオフザケの曲だったんですね。でも当時はアメリカでもこの曲がジョークととらえずに左翼だと批判されることがあったそうです。

Back in the U.S.S.R. = 主人公はソ連崩壊前の時代のソ連に帰るというなのでソ連の人間と考えられます。
Ukraine girls really knock me out They leave the West behind = 今戦争状態になっているウクライナは当時はソ連邦の一員。今は逆に西欧化しています。
Georgia's always on my ma ma ma ma mind = 日本でもグルジアからジョージアに国名が変わりましたが、有名な原曲をもじったものですね。
