What do you imagine from “Mr. Mom”?

Is “Mr. Mom” a man?
Is “Mr. Mom” a woman?

Today I received an email from one of my American friends.
3.11 disaster has been on her mind all week so she wanted
to write a note to say hello.

In the latter half of the email she writes about her two trips
she is going on.

She has five children. Her oldest son lives in Hawaii.
The younger ones live with their parents.

First, she will go to Poland with her oldest daughter.
As soon as they return from Poland, she will visit her oldest
son in Hawaii.

She usually has her younger children along on the Hawaii trips
but this time she will go alone.

Her husband assures her he will try to do her job well during
her absence!

Yes, he will be “Mr. Mom"

"Mr. Mom" is 主夫　in Japanese, isn't it?

They are a nice couple.

Yesterday I joined ‘Green Road Walking Club’
and enjoyed walking downtown---

大手町１丁目⇒大手町２丁目⇒日本橋室町１丁目
⇒日本橋２丁目⇒京橋１丁目⇒京橋２丁目⇒
then we came to Ginza Chuo Street.

We walked along the street--- from 銀座１丁目
to 銀座８丁目, We turned right and came
to the crossing of 内幸町.

We went into 日比谷公園　from 中幸門.

Hibiya Park was crowded. It seemed many events
had been arranged.

We had a late lunch near the pond.

At 2:46, we all offered a silent prayer for the victims
of the 3.11 Earthquake and tsunami disaster.

The crowded Hibiya Park became silent at that moment.

After our late lunch, we walked up through Hibiya Park.

Looking at government offices on the left, we walked to

桜田門⇒二重橋⇒東京国際フォーラム.

At 東京国際フォーラム we said good bye.

It was already 4 o’clock in the afternoon.

We visited

将門塚・逓信総合博物館・日本銀行＆貨幣博物館・
日本橋・警察博物館・日比谷公園・桜田門・二重橋・
東京国際フォーラム.

I was happy to walk downtown.
I walked 22322 steps in a day.

One year has passed
since the Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami
of March 2011.

I offered a silent prayer for the souls lost forever.

Tonight I watched a TV program of NHK Special
and was moved by some survivors' words.

I'm sure all the survivors have had many, many sorrows.

Oh, how brave the survivors have been!
How kind and gentle they are!
How strong and great they are!

I hope they will live again.
I pray for the quick recovery of East Japan.

I think we all have to take on those mountains of rubble.
Let’s bring them to our neighborhood so that the survivors
can begin life again.
