the Kan Cabinet

2010-06-09 09:29:00 | ノンジャンル
The Kan Cabinet started yesterday.

Naoto Kan became Japan's 94th Prime Minister.

The NY Times writes Kan is the fifth new prime minister
in four years. It sounds a bit cynical, doesn't it?

There are a lot of problems he will have to confront
both at home and abroad.

He has a lot of hard work ahead.

I hope he will stay both mentally and physically
healthy as long as possible and will be able
to realize 最小不幸社会---
'a society with the minimum amount of unhappiness'
by NY Times.

I hope all the politicians (statespersons?) will work
for the People not for the Government.

I'd like to do whatever I can do to make Japan
a better country to live in.

first Saturday of June

I'm sorry to say there are no good news
in Japan at present.

Everything is unstable and uncertain.

Where will Japan go?

What can I do for my country?

------------------------------------

Time really flies!
What have I been doing?

My daughter has been very busy with her work.
and comes home late in the evening.

I stayed at her home until she came home.

I did some of her housework instead of her---
washing, cleaning and shopping, not cooking at all.

koharu had no school on Thursday and I enjoyed
the day with her.

Our teacher of Friday English Circle is going back
to America for summer holidays.

Yesterday an American substitute teacher came
to our circle.

We had a very good time together, speaking a lot
in poor English.

my first visit in 2010 to Showa Kinen Park

Yesterday Mrs. M and I visited Showa Kinen Park.

We met at 11:00 at the entrance of Isetan Department Store
in Tachikawa.

After having lunch at a restaurant in Isetan Department
then walked to Showa Kinen Park.

I was surprised to find that there was a new Park Entrance Fee
system for the aged.

People of over 65 have only to pay 200 yen--half of what I
used to pay. This system has just started.

Mrs. M and I talked a lot about life--how to live, how to care
of the older people or about her first grandchild.

All the flowers but アグロステンマ have gone in Showa Kinen Park.

The season of fresh green has come in Showa Kinen Park.

I walked 19709 steps yesterday.
