these three days

The day before yesterday koharu and I enjoyed
a Sunday afternoon concert---
the Amaryllis Annual Autumn Concert.

koharu's parents played the saxophone on the stage--
her father the soprano saxophone,
mother the alto saxophone.

The concert went well.
It was a success.
koharu and I enjoyed the concert a lot.

After the concert koharu and I went
to an Italian restaurant
and had spaghetti for supper.

koharu's parents were busy after the concert
and came home late at night.

koharu was excited that I decided to stay
the night at her room.

Yesterday was my birthday
but every member of koharu's family was busy.

So they are going to celebrate my birthday
on Saturday, they say.

By the way, today I enjoyed Koga-melody on TV.
I like his melody very much.

My favorite songs by Koga Masao are "kageo-shitaite,"
"yunomachi-ereji" and "kanashii-sake."

How about you? Do you like Koga-melody?

ayame-yuki-kabu, turnip

Turnips I know are white vegetables.

Do you know a purple and white turnip?

I was surprised to find one at a farmer's market.
I bought them for 100 yen.

"They are called ayame-yuki-kabu," said the farmer to me.

"This is the first year I planted them," he added.

I lightly salted them down.

How delicious!

The sun is shining in the sky.

How happy I am under a warm November sun!

This is really Indian Summer--koharu-biyori.

I'm going to attend Harmonica Circle
at the community center.

I'll leave my apartment earlier than usual
and take some pictures on the way.

I'm sure I'll have a nice day.

See you later.

******* *******

I took some pictures on the way to the community center.

blood pressure

Today I went to the doctor.

I have high blood pressure.

I see the doctor once a month
and have my blood pressure checked.

The doctor prescribed medicine to me.

My parents also had high blood pressure.

Father died of brain hemorrhage
when he was 69 years old.

Mother died of the rupture of brain aneurysms
when she was 83 years old.

Will I live longer than Father?
Will I live longer than Mother?
I'll soon be 66 years old.

All that I have to do is to live out TODAY.

(on the way to the doctor)

Yes, We Can.

Yesterday I went to Hino City and met my friends.
I enjoyed chatting with them about current topics.
The biggest topic was on President-elect Barack Obama.

Obama reminds me of J.F. Kennedy.
Obama reminds me of Martin Luther King, Junior.
Obama's victory speech in Chicago reminds me of
his speech "I Have a Dream."

Obama has realized Martin Luther King's dream.

Around four in the afternoon, I said good bye to my friends.
I walked from Hino to Tachikawa and then caught a train
for Tokyo.

It was a delightful walk of about 50 minutes.

(on the way to Tachikawa Station--from Tappi-bashi
late in the afternoon)

By the way, I preserved karin in honey.
