English conversation

I like to watch people very much.
I like to communicate with people much more.

I like English very much.

I’d like to communicate with foreign people in English.

I’m afraid that I can’t communicate much more than
a greeting in English, though.

I have very few chances to speak in English.

Yesterday, I had a chance!

I was doing the shopping at a supermarket nearby.

I saw a tall black young mas was also shopping there.

He wore a black T-shirr written ‘Senegal’ on the back.

I said to him, “Excuse me, are you from Senegal?
A faraway country from Japan?”

He smiled and said, “Yes, I’m from Senegal. Oh, you read
it on my T-shirt?”

And our English conversation started.

He told me the official language in Senegal is French.
He learned English in his high school days.

He came to Japan three years ago.
He said, “I love Japan. My wife is a Japanese.
She is from Kyoto. Kyoto is really a wonderful city.
Do you live near here?”

I said, “Yes, I’ve just moved in the apartment complex nearby.”

He said in surprise, “Oh! My wife and I live in the same complex.
Nice to meet you. My name is C.”

I said, “ I’m Karin. Nice to meet you, too.”

Thus we enjoyed talking in English.
He looked happy and I was happy.
