コーン価格 上がる

エタノールをコーンから作るというわけで、米国のエタノール政策で農作のコーンシフトが発生して食料価格高騰の原因の一つとされているんでした。

そのコーンですが、

Corn up for fifth day as USDA projects lower output

SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Corn futures rose for a fifth day on Tuesday after the U.S. Department of Agriculture lowered its estimate for corn production in the next season as heavy rain in the past month slowed planting and crop development.

米当局が大雨の影響でコーン生産の予測を引き下げて、コーン先物が上がっているそうです。

Reflecting the new estimate, corn futures prices rose on the Chicago Board of Trade. Corn for July delivery gained 11.75 cents, or 1.7%, to $6.69 a bushel in early morning trading. Corn has jumped 10% since last Tuesday, boosted by recent rain in the Midwest.

木曜日から１割も上がった。

On the demand side, the USDA lowered corn consumption for feed and residual use by 150 million bushels. Corn use for ethanol is expected unchanged from last month's forecast at four billion bushels, or about 40% of the domestic consumption.


ふーん，コーンがエタノール製造に使われるのは４割ですか。かなりな比率ですね。原発政策でもそうですが、やるとなったらダイナミックですなあ。
