韓国の大統領選。結局保守党が勝って，初の女性大統領ってことになりました。
あの韓国で，女性が大統領になる，ということがまずどんだけスゴイことか。
彼女は独裁者，朴大統領の娘で，両親ともに暗殺で失ってます。

Her biggest challenge after she takes office in February, however, may be the still-fresh divisions that linger from the 18 years that her father, President Park Chung-hee, ruled South Korea.

His critics remember the brutal way he dealt with opponents to his unchecked rule, the claims of torture, execution and vote rigging.

父親と常に対比される運命にあって，どうしたってソフトな面を見せざるを得ない，という立場にあるってことかも知れませんね。北に対する姿勢や，格差問題，財閥問題，あまり左派候補と主張に差がなかったとされていたのもそういうことなんでしょうか。
韓国はOECD諸国の中で自殺率が一位になっちゃったという位，国民は厳しい状況なんで，いろんな面で融和策を取らざるを得ないという事情もあるんでしょうが。
