そういや、マイケルムーアがクリントンの政策を並べて、これって共和党の大統領の政策だとおもうでしょ、が実はクリントンの政策でっせ、と当時はやってたましたな。隠れ共和党、みたいな。
But here’s the thing. While Mr. Brown and his party may deserve to be punished, their political opponents don’t deserve to be rewarded.

危機が発生してからのブラウンの対応を、クルーグマンは評価しているわけで、危機に瀕した銀行を救い、大幅な財政出動を行い、中央銀行の資産拡大を支持して・・・、多分ほかの欧州各国よりは早く回復するんだろうってわけでして。
It’s a sobering prospect. If I were a member of the Obama administration’s economic team — a team whose top members were as enthusiastic about the wonders of modern finance as their British counterparts — I’d be looking across the Atlantic and muttering,
マジなハナシ、自分がもしオバマ政権に居たとしたら、小声でこういってたろう、
“There but for the disgrace of Bush v. Gore go I.”
ブッシューゴアの間違いが無かったら、今頃、ブラウンみたいな目にあってたぜ。
ブッシュがずるしなくてゴアが勝って、英国で労働党政権が続いたように、米国で民主党政権が続いていたら、今頃、民主党政権は追い詰められていただろう、ってことですな。
