On May 7
I worked as a volunteer waitress at the café
in my community.

A lot of people came and enjoyed drinks and
talking in the café, as it had been closed
during GW holidays.

I was very happy to see them, though I was busy.

On May 8
I attended Friday English Class at Kominkan.
We enjoyed talking in English and playing the game
of guessing English words.

Our new American teacher is a very young lady in her
twenties.
She is doing her work very well, I think.

On May 9
It was an open day at koharu's high school.
koharu is my granddaughter.

I went to her high school for the first time
and observed three classes in English.

I was sorry one of the teachers spoke in a low, dry voice
and I could hardly hear him.

I was surprised to find almost all students had prepared
for lessons at home.

They have no school uniform.
Her school has no rules except that they must not come
to school in 下駄.

On May 10
My friend in my elementary school days came
to see me from Kawasaki. It was 5 years since we met last.

We had lunch at 歌行燈 in Tachikawa-Isetan, walked and
talked a lot in Showa Kinen Park.
How we talked!

We were thankful to have lived to be 72.
We promised to see each other again.

I always make myself busy
and I like my way of life.

I remember a saying---

Try to keep yourself busy.
That's the best way to stay cheerful.

I forgot completely that May 10 was Mother's Day.

The typhoon is approaching!
