(ジャマイカ・モンテゴベイ観光・・・1)

On Feb.7 I saw a glorious sunrise on Deck 13.

Our final port of call was Falmouth in Jamaica.
We arrived at Port Falmouth at 8:00am.

Oh, Jamaica!

You remember the Olympics gold medal player Bolt
comes from Jamaica.

Jamaica reminded me of an old singer Harry Belafonte.
He is a Jamaican American.

In my high school days, my English teacher often taught
us his songs in class.

I remember Harry Belafonte’s ‘Jamaica Farewell’
’The Banana Boat’ ‘Mama, Look at bubu’or
'Come Back, Liza.’

Oh! my good old days!

A Japanese lady, whose husband is a Cuban and lives
in Jamaica for 18 years, showed us around Falmouth
and Montego Bay.

First, we visited St. Peter’s Anglican Church.

Many things were sold next to the church.

Then our guide took us to the Rose Hall Great House
in Montego Bay.

This is a historic Jamaica plantation mansion.
There is a legend that the spirit of “Annie” haunts there.

At the place named Hell we got off our bus.
Why is it called Hell?

We did some shopping there.

Then we went to Turtle Farm.

We came back to our ship Poesia early in the evening.

On Feb. 6 we arrived at George Town in Cayman Islands
at 10:30am.

I got up early and got a very good ocean view from our balcony.
It was half past six in the morning.

At 10:30 we left our ship Poesia, boarded a tender boat and
landed George Town.

Then we boarded a glass boat whose bottom is made of glass
so that we can see the sea bed.

We saw shelves of coral. (珊瑚礁)

(glass boat)

After that we enjoyed driving through the town.

(from my bus window)

(ロアタンの絶景ポイント)

Before going back to Poesia we called at a view point.

I saw beautiful flowers.

In Roatan they are so poor that they have very few running water
systems. We donated some money for them.

After dinner my friend and I went to the theatre and
enjoyed the musical show ‘The spirit of the tree.’

(ホンジュラスのロアタン島に寄港・島内観光)

On the morning of Feb. 5 we arrived at the Island of
Roatan in Honduras.

We went to the private beach.
A few ladies enjoyed swimming in the sea but I didn’t.

We went in a boat and watched the mangrove
or some wrecked ships.

Then we enjoyed the local folk dances

After that we went to Iguana Park!
I was surprised to see so many iguanas.
