On Feb. 3 we were sailing all day.
We were sailing to Cozmel in Mexico.

Every evening Daily program (船内新聞) was
delivered to the cabin. We read it and decide
how to enjoy the day.



And dress code of the day was suggested in the paper.



In the day time my friend and I explored the ship.
We walked around the ship.
There were many activities.



We attended ‘Oriental cooking demonstration’—sushi.





I walked 10582 steps in a day.

The dress code for the evening was—
dressy outfit, formal gown or cocktail dress.

We went to our dinner restaurant dressed up.

After dinner party I had my photo taken with the Captain.

The time difference between Tokyo and Miami is 14 hours.

On Feb. 2 we embarked on a ship MSC Poesia.

MSC stands for Mediterranean Shipping Company.
It is an Italian ship.
Poesia means Poem in English.

Poesia is 300 meters long and 32 meters wide.
It is 16 stories tall.

Wow! I’m going to stay here for 7 nights and 8 days!

There were 2568 passengers including 13 Japanese!
Yes, we were the only Japanese on board.
There seemed to be no Chinese nor Koreans on board.

Poesia is just like a town floating on the ocean.

It has a medical center, offices ( excursions, accounting,
or exchange), shops (duty free, MSC logo, jewelery,
boutique, perfumery etc.), Internet room, photo shop,
casino, slot machines, library, beauty salon, pools and
whirlpools, fitness center with gym instructor, spa, sauna,
jogging track or disco.

There was a big theatre and my friend and I enjoyed
musical shows on the stage every night.

There are several bars, lounges, three big restaurants,
one big buffet restaurant and one sushi restaurant.

We usually had breakfast and lunch at the buffet restaurant.
It was always a sumptuous buffet.

As for dinner our table was decided and we always sat
at the same place.

Poesia departed from Port Everglades in Miami at 7:00pm.

Caribbean Cruise (2)

（成田～ニューヨーク～マイアミ～ホテル）

12 members-- 5 couples and us two ladies--
joined this package tour.
The tour conductor was a 25- year-old young man.

First we flew to New York.
I was excited because it was my first time to fly to America.
It took 13 hours to arrive at the JFK airport of New York!
What a long time!

Then we changed planes there for Miami.
It took 3 and a half hours to arrive in Miami!

The security check was very tight at both airports.

We arrived at a hotel around 4:00pm then went out for
some sightseeing. That night we enjoyed Cuban dinner.

I was interested in the number plates.

Caribbean Cruise (1)

On January 31 I went to Narita by local train by way of
Nippori. It took three and a half hours for me to arrive
at Hotel Nikko Narita where I stayed overnight alone.

I joined this package tour ‘Caribbean Cruise’ with
Ms. Mo, a friend of my old friends.
She is an early riser and did not have to stay at a hotel
the night before.

We were asked to meet at 8:40 am at Narita Airport on Feb. 1.

I enjoyed staying at the hotel talking with a foreign lady
when I had my dinner at a restaurant.
