waking with a stranger

Yesterday morning, after hanging the washing,
I went out to go to a nearby supermarket.

I was surprised it was raining when I came out of
the supermarket!

“Oh, I have to get the washing in quickly! I thought
to myself and hurried back to the apartment.

But around 2:00 p.m. the weather began to clear
and the sun began to shine.

I wanted to go to Hanakoganei and enjoyed
walking from Kodaira Station to Hanakoganei
Station. It is only 2.5km.

It was my first time to walk there.

A lady walking very slowly asked me to walk
to Hanakoganei with her.

She told me that she was 57 years old, her husband
had cerebral paralysis and that she took care of him
every day.

She said, “ He is in a day-care center today.
It’s a long time since I enjoyed walking outside last.
Oh! Autumn leaves are so beautiful!”

She talked in a feeble vice.

I wondered if she was in bad health.

Anyway, we walked very slowly and enjoyed talking
very quietly.

We said good bye in front of Hanakoganei Station.

Yes, we enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime chance.

I walked 12991 steps in a day.
