( from Mount Cook Village to Queenstown--Aug. 27 )

I left the hotel at 10 o'clock and headed for Queenstown.

I had lunch at a hotel beside Lake Wanaka.
Wanaka lies between Mount Cook Village and Queenstown.

After lunch, my bus left Wanaka and arrived at a small
town named Arrowtown, where I enjoyed walking a little.

( Mount Cook Village-- Aug.27 )

I woke up at 5:30 in the morning.
It was still dark. Yes, everything was in the dark.

Around half past seven, I opened the curtains of my room.
Oh ! What a lovely day! I cried.

I saw the clear outline of mountains against the blue sky.

After breakfast, I went out for a walk around the hotel.

Mt. Cook is 3754m high and Tasman Glacier is 28km long.

(from my window --at the hotel)

How I wished to go on a hike!

(from Christchurch to Mount Cook Village--Aug. 26)

It was still raining in the afternoon while my bus
was running through Canterbury to Mount Cook Village.
But I did not mind about the rain at all.

I was looking out of my bus window and took pictures.

I saw many sheep in the pastures.

Lake Pukaki suddenly appeared.

Soon I was at the end of Lake Pukaki and knew I would
arrive at Mount Cook Village before long.

I stayed at the Hermitage Hotel at Aoraki Mount Cook
National Park.
