too cold for March

Everything I had expected to do in Niigata
was over and I came back to Tokyo today.

Snow covered the ground today. I walked
to the nearest station very carefully.
I was surprised to find that I had forgotten
how to walk on the snow.

In Niigata they had had a very mild winter
until the end of February. February is usually
the coldest month.

But this year seems to be an unusual year.
They told me that it had been much colder in March
than in February.

They were right. When I arrived at Niigata Station,
the cold strong wind lashed at my face.
