シルバーレイク カルパースが出資

　日立のHDD製造子会社に米プライベートエクイティが出資するというニュースをご紹介しましたよね。そのファンドがシルバーレイクという名前で、傘下には大手EMS企業Flextronicsを持っていて、そのEMS企業はパソコンEMSの拡大を狙っていて・・・、というお話でした。

The California Public Employees' Retirement System, the largest U.S. public pension plan, agreed to buy 9.9 percent of Silver Lake Group, the biggest private- equity firm specializing in technology companies.

カルパースって最近テレビで紹介されたりもしてるんでご存知の方も多いんじゃないかと思いますが、カルパースさんが作ったとかいうんじゃなくて頭文字で略しただけなんですな。そのカルパースがシルバーレイクの約１割を持つ。テクノロジーに特化した中で最大のファンドとか。まあ日本にまで乗り出してきて日立の子会社を買う位ですからね。

The stake is worth about $275 million, valuing Menlo Park, California-based Silver Lake at $2.75 billion, the New York Times reported earlier today, citing unidentified people briefed on the deal.

Calpers also owns a 10 percent stake in Apollo Management LP, the leveraged-buyout firm run by Leon Black, and a 5 percent stake in Washington-based Carlyle Group.

アポロマネジメントの１０％とカーライルの５％も持っている。まあカーライルは有名ですわな。ホームページを見ると確かに持ってますね。

でも今度の２８億ドルって相当大きいような感じですな。

全部で３８０億ドルだったわけですからねえ。

再び記事に戻りまして、

Calpers Chief Investment Officer Russell Read said last month that the pension plan will shift an extra $10.4 billion into alternative investments such as private equity and hedge funds.

さいですか。恐れ入りやした。

まあ、今は株式もくだり調子だし、こっち方面がよさそうだと判断したんでしょうかね。ファンドにしてみればファイナンスが糞詰まり状態なわけで、こういう資金は助かるんでしょうな。

私の年金もお願いできないもんですかな。
