one day bus tour--hiking (1)

2008-05-15 13:06:31 | ノンジャンル
Yesterday, I joined a one day bus tour of hiking.
My bus ran and ran -- to Kinasa in Nagano.
It was a long drive.
I had lunch while I was in bus.

It was rainy when I left Tokyo.
But it was fine in Nagano.

I visited Okususobana-shitsugen in Kinasa, Nagano.
It was a huge, calm, natural marshland.
It was the home of mizubasho (an aquatic cabbage).
I heard there were 810,000 mizubasho planted.

I enjoyed walking there for three hours.
Three hours was too short to see much of the marshland.
But I enjoyed myself very much.

Mizubasho was so pure.
Mizubasho was so lovely.
Mizubasho was so calm.

I walked 17171 steps.

cherries

On the way to my community center,
I saw a few cherry trees with a lot of dark red fruits.

Some birds were up in the trees and singing noisily.
They seemed to be eating cherries.

I saw many fallen cherries under the trees.
I wonder why nobody gathers cherries.
Are they not good to eat?

On Mother's Day

On Mother's Day I always feel a little sad,
because I think of my mother.

Oh, how much I miss you, Mother!
When you were at my age, you already needed my help.
I believe "All is well that ends well."

I tried my hardest to make your later days happier than
your younger days.

Were you happy in the last days of your life?
I'm sure you will say,"Yes," but somehow, I feel sad.

My daughter gave me a present of a DVD of
a movie Casablanca for Mother's Day.
Casablanca is one of my favorite movies.

You have ever heard of "Here's looking at you, kid,"
haven't you?

Today my friend and I met at Tokyo Station.
We were going to have lunch in Ginza.
Before having lunch, we watched an American film
titled The Bucket List.

How do you want to live when you are told
that you will die within a year or so?
What do you want to do before you die?

the Myanmar Cyclone

2008-05-09 23:48:31 | ノンジャンル
It is reported that the death toll in the Myanmar Cyclone
will reach more than 100,000.

The survivors have no electricity, no food or no clean
drinking water--nothing.

Alas! how do they live? How are they doing?
Please save them from death!

All that I can do is pray that they all may be saved.
