バークシャーハザウェイ 格下げ

あのオマハの賢人のバフェット率いるバークシャーハザウェイが格下げだそうで。この環境下、はやり影響をこうむるのを避けられなかったんですね。

Moody’s Downgrades Berkshire

Moody’s Investors Service on Wednesday stripped away the triple-A rating of Berkshire Hathaway, the conglomerate and investment vehicle run by Mr. Buffett, citing the economic pressures on the firm.

トリプルAから格下げされた。

Today’s rating actions reflect the impact on Berkshire’s key businesses of the severe decline in equity markets over the past year as well as the protracted economic recession,” Bruce Ballentine, Moody’s lead analyst for Berkshire, said in a statement.

資本市場がひどく痛んでいて、バークシャーのキービジネスにも影響が及んでいる。

The parent company of Moody’s is 20 percent owned by Berkshire, but Mr. Buffett has not exerted any control over the company. Standard & Poor’s, the other large agency, warned last month that it might also trim its Berkshire ratings.

ムーディーズの親会社をバークシャーは２０％所有しているが、バフェットは一切関与していない。バフェットが買収した会社の経営に口を挟まないのは有名なハナシですね。買った会社に格下げされて・・・。

In his letter to investors this year, Mr. Buffett acknowledged that he had done “some dumb things” and lamented “a series of life-threatening problems within many of the world’s great financial institutions.”

バフェット自身は、ヘマをやったことを投資家への手紙の中で認めているそうです。
