スタンドでTIMESを買って、カフェで読む。TIMESはチャーチルが若いころ従軍記者やってたころ投稿したりしている伝統のある新聞だし、まあ、良い感じ、1.5ポンドでこんなに分厚い、イギリスはジャーナリズムが超一流で、と思っていたら、
そもそも、ロンドにくんだりまできて、新聞を読む意味があるのか、とハタと気がつきまして、昔と違って、なんでもインターネットで読めるんですな。しかもタダで。東京の安アパートで十分なんで。
だんだん、海外旅行の意味って何? って感じがしたりして。
さて、TIMESを読んでて、これはと思ったのがこの記事です。ここ数年の傑作記事という感じですがね。

07年にコソボのプリスチーナのヨーロピアンミッションの玄関の階段で小さな爆弾が爆発した際に、３人のドイツのエージェントが被害を調査するために緊急で派遣されて写真をとろうとしたが、爆弾を仕掛けた犯人と間違えられて逮捕されてしまった。
３人は釈放されたものの、彼らの名前と写真が広く公表された後であって、地場の情報網は破壊されてしまった。
ははは。
クルーゾー警部が潜入捜査してて、警察に捕まってしまうのと同じレベルですね。まあ、コメディそのもの。
と、まあ、ホンマかって感じもする記事ですが、あまりにおもしろかったんで、東京に帰ってから検索してしまいました。
見つかって良かったとの思い半分、何でやねんとの思い半分、微妙です。
ネットで読むと大英帝国の香りも何もしまへんな。
