２月のコンサートの新作２曲の作曲家２名に：「曲の進行具合はどう？（まだかかりそう？早く送ってネ）」とか隔週ごとにメールを入れる時期になりました。（苦笑）

I think the Boesendorfer would sound great for my piece.
The piece does not ask for inside play so no worries there!
I like the program, nice choices there. I like your idea for the program.

Doesn't the Emperial Bosendorfer have extra low notes? Does it go to the C below the normal low A? If so I will write for those notes - let me know ASAP! It's great you will play the Bosendorfer - the best for full, dark sound!

- just want to make sure these chord voicings are OK for your hands?

さっそく送られてた４ページほどをピアノで弾いてみて返信。もともとミディ・ピアノとエレクトロニクス（コンピュータ）のための曲なので、「これはリトル・グレイ（E・Tみたいな宇宙人）のように親指と人差し指で１０度掴めるような手の形でないと無理」という和音もあります。
その他、なんでもないようで重要な問題。5/8, 3/8, と変拍子が続く中、C(＝4/4)という表記はヤメてもらいたい。4/4と数字で統一してもらいたい。四分音符が140と高速な曲なので、楽譜を見る素早い目の動きが「ん？」ととまどうような表記だと注意力が削がれた瞬間、手が止まるという危険性があるから。

The great news is that I'm going to write the vocal part where the voice comes in, so you will sing too. It will be so Powerful for DRAMA - very exciting!
I'm going to make you a quick short score tonight of all the parts so you can see basically what is going on and if you want to switch to different patches besides piano (if you are palying a synth) - if not acoustic piano will be fine too - either way.

よーするにアレンジとはいえ思いのほか難産だったワケだ。
ちなみにこの曲は９６年にキャロリンのBFが亡くなった直後に作られました。行き場のない怒り、悲しみ、愛情といったものをキャロリンが抱えてた頃の曲で、コンピュータの曲（ミディ・ピアノとエレクトロニクス）として発表（CDのみ）して以来、１０年以上の月日を経て他の人間（←ヤザワ）にも託してみようかと思ってくれたのかもしれません。２００６年には再婚もして幸せなはずだけど、精神的にキツいのかもしれない。
胸に迫ってくる激しく美しい曲です。
作曲家から新曲をいただくというのは債権を回収するほど難儀なのではないかと思う場合があります。文芸編集者と同じ苦労なんでしょうね。（みんな取り立て屋みたいー：笑）
と思うことにしてます。ターキー食べてゴロゴロしてたらムっとするけど（笑）
それでも新曲が手元に来た時、世界で初めて（作曲家以外）自分がその音楽を見て、音にするんだ！という期待と興奮で、難儀だった数々のことなど忘れてしまいます。
というわけで：新曲が来るまでの間に、他のプログラムを徹底的に練習して仕上げておきます。
年内に出来るといいなー。。
