エアバスが、米ドル安、というかユーロ高に泣いているようです。

"The main threat we have before us is the U.S. dollar," Gallois told BusinessWeek in an interview on Nov. 16. The dollar's relative weakness against the euro is sapping EADS' financial health, he said, because nearly all its manufacturing is in the euro zone, while 60% of sales are outside of that area, he said. "When the euro rises 10 cents [against the dollar], we lose 1 billion euros" in operating profit. And that's what has happened this year, with the euro climbing from about $1.35 to more than $1.46 since last spring.
１０セントあがると１０億ユーロ損するわけで、実際今年はそれ以上あがってるんですね。それにしてもドルは随分と安くなりましたな。
対応として、コストカットや、米国での現地生産を増やしたり、単独の努力以外に米国企業を買収することなどに注力しているようですね。かつての日本の自動車メーカーみたいですよね。当時は買収って道はなかったかな。
ドル安、株安、国防費は増えている、とういう環境で米国防衛関連企業を買収するというのは時期的にはいいのかも知れませんね。でもエアバスが買うって問題にならんのかな。
