・長い文は、前から順に意味的かたまりを頭にはふりこんでゆく讀み方を心懸けると良いでせう。その際に「何がどうしたのか？」と自問しつつ讀み進みます－つまり、主語と動詞を見出すべく注意を拂ひます。ここでは主語は guarantees 、動詞は assure です。何かの「保證」が何かを「確かなものにする」と述べてゐるわけです。誰に何を確かなものとするのか、を讀み取り、さらに追加される説明を順に讀み取つてゆきます。
