猫は映像を認識できるのでしょうか？Pippa watches TV

昨晩TVで動物の番組を観ていました。
Pippaは離れた場所に居たのですが、ある場面になるとそそくさとTVの前のたまたまそこにあったクッション（Pippa用のではありません）に座り込みました。
We were watching a wild life program on TV last night.
Pippa was not near the TV, but she rushed to the TV and sat smugly on the cushion that happened to be there. (The cushion is NOT hers.)

何に反応したのでしょうか？　コレです。

ハイエナ。It's Hyenas.
ハイエナって見かけが犬のようですが、ネコ亜目（食肉目）なんだそうですね。
I thought hyenas look rather like dogs, but actually they are the animals of the family Hyaenidae of the feliform suborder of the Carnivora.
Feliformia (also Feloidea) is a suborder within the order Carnivora consisting of "cat-like" carnivorans, including cats (large and small), hyenas, mongooses, civets, and related taxa.
そういえば鳴き声はネコに近いような気がします。
Come to think of it, they do sound like cats.
Pippa を惹きつけたのが映像なのか音なのか分かりませんが、かなり真剣に見入っていました。
I am not sure if the images or the sound that got her attention, she was watching the program quite intently.
猫がTVの映像を認識できると科学的に検証されているのか知りません。
I don't know if it was scientifically proved that cats can recognise images on TV.
でも、番組が終わるとTVの前から離れたので、やっぱり観てたんだと思います。
ハイエナを仲間と思ったかどうかは疑問ですが…

But I believe she could do so, at least on this occasion, as she left the vantage point as soon as the program had finished.
