海の日は祝日でしたが、午後3時前、学習院大学の校内は、学生で満ちあふれていました。長い夏休みを控え、試験でもあったのでしょうか。剣道場からは、えぇ～いっ、やぁ～っ、たぁ～っ、バシッバシッという声や竹刀の音が聞こえてきました。Marine Day was a public holiday, but before 3:00 pm, the campus of Gakushuin University was full of students.
Was it an exam before the long summer vacation?
From the kendo hall, I could hear voices and the sound of bamboo swords.
私は校内の案内板にたる「血洗いの池」に興味がわき、足早に歩いきました。目白駅での待ち合わせが近づいていたので、「血洗いの池」の手前にある喫煙所に寄って、学生さんたちと一緒に一服させていただきました。
I was intrigued by the "Chiarai Pond" on the school's information board, so I walked quickly. It was getting close to meeting at Mejiro Station, so I stopped by the smoking area in front of Chiarai Pond and took a break with the students.
